Britt Baker has just made a major appearance, but at an event outside of AEW and wrestling as a whole. Her hiatus with the company continues, with her future remaining uncertain.
Baker has not been seen in the ring since November 2024, when she faced Penelope Ford during an episode of Dynamite. Her situation is confusing as she is not dealing with any major injuries, nor is her contract with the company expiring soon.
Britt Baker posted today on her Instagram Stories that she was at the NASCAR Daytona 500 race at the iconic Daytona International Speedway. She posted several snippets of the event, including a photo with Jacob Ullman of Fox Sports.

Update on Britt Baker’s status within AEW
The former AEW Women’s World Champion returned to the company at Forbidden Door 2024 after a hiatus of almost a year. But ironically, she would only compete for a few months, with her match with Mercedes Moné at All In being the main highlight. She briefly returned in November that year, but would go on the longest absence of her career after.
It has been more than a year, but it seems that things have not changed. A few days ago, fans asked Sean Ross Sapp during Fightful’s Q&A session whether there was any update on her. He mentioned how she was either at home or going out and doing whatever she wanted. In other words, she was just chilling and had not been backstage for any AEW shows.
When asked about her, Tony Khan has mostly had vague responses, but he has not ruled out an AEW return for her. It remains to be seen if that will take place sometime this year, or if she’ll stay absent till her contract expires.
