“GOAT” is a 2026 American animated sports comedy from Sony Pictures Animation directed by Tyree Dillihay and written by Aaron Buchsbaum and Teddy Riley. The film revolves around Will Harris, a small goat who dreams of becoming the greatest of all time at a basketball-like sport called Roarball. It debuted in U.S. theaters on Friday.
Will is voiced by Caleb McLaughlin. The rest of the cast includes Gabrielle Union, Aaron Pierre, Nicola Coughlan, David Harbour, Nick Kroll and Curry as a giraffe player.
Critics have been divided on the film. Some praised its vibrant animation and family-friendly message, while others criticized the story as predictable and overloaded with cliché sports-movie beats. The Guardian called it loud and chaotic with little emotional depth, while AP News labeled the script as overly sweet despite intriguing character visuals.
