Miami Dolphins release All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill

Date:

MIAMI, Feb. 16 (UPI) — The Miami Dolphins released All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill, a league source told UPI on Monday.

Hill, 31, signed a three-year, $90 million restructured contract extension in 2024. He carried a $51.1 million salary cap hit, with a $29.9 million base salary, in 2026.

The eight-time Pro Bowl selection and five-time All-Pro, who joined the Dolphins in a 2022 trade from the Kansas City Chiefs, led the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards and 13 scores over 16 starts in 2023.

He totaled 1,224 yards and seven scores over his final two seasons with the Dolphins. He dislocated his left knee in September and missed the final 13 games of 2025.

Hill caught a career-high 119 passes for 1,710 yards and seven scores over 17 starts in 2022, his first season with the Dolphins. He became the first player in NFL history to log at least 1,700 receiving yards in consecutive seasons when he reached his league-best total of 1,799 in 2023.

Hill’s 96 career touchdowns are 30th in NFL history and the fifth-most among active players. His 78.4 receiving yards per game are the eighth-most in league history.

Former Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said last month that he had not discussed Hill’s return or if he plans to play in 2026. It’s unclear if Hill will be healthy for the start of the 2026 season. The veteran wide receiver told People magazine earlier this month that he was in his second week of walking without a knee brace.
