MJF suddenly claims top star is not coming back to AEW

Date:

Current AEW World Champion MJF recently claimed that one of his past rivals will not be returning to All Elite Wrestling. The top star has been out of action for over six months now.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman believes that top AEW star Will Ospreay is not coming back. The Aerial Assassin has not wrestled since competing in the multi-man Lights Out Steel Cage Match at Forbidden Door 2025, where his team defeated The Death Riders. Ospreay had to undergo surgery amid his absence and is currently on the road to recovery.

There is no official confirmation regarding Will Ospreay’s return date. Meanwhile, a fan on X shared an amazing graphic of Ospreay along with the All In: London logo, expressing their desire to see him compete at the event in August. However, MJF doesn’t think that will be the case at all.

Reacting to the fan’s graphic on X, MJF, in character, declared that Will Ospreay was not coming back.

“He’s not coming back. He’s a bum,” Maxwell wrote.

MJF and Will Ospreay had an amazing feud in 2024, which concluded with Ospreay defeating The Salt of the Earth at All In: London.

Tony Khan confirmed the top AEW star’s return for 2026

During an interview with Adrian Hernandez, Tony Khan was recently asked about the potential return date for top AEW star Will Ospreay. Without revealing the exact date, Khan confirmed that Ospreay will be back sometime in 2026.

“He’s doing better, and I’m very grateful. I was just talking to him on my way over here. Will Ospreay is recovering from serious neck injuries, and I’m grateful that he’s in AEW, and he will be back in 2026. I can’t say exactly when, but I can tell you that in 2026, he will be back, and we’re so excited to have him here,” Tony stated.

Fans will have to wait and see when The Aerial Assassin will be back inside the squared circle.
