Deion Sanders went through a challenging 2025, which included a 3-9 football season from his Colorado Buffaloes and a successful battle with bladder cancer.
One person he consistently had by his side was his partner, actor Karrueche Tran. Tran recently revealed in a video posted by Deion Sanders Jr. that Sanders offered her the option to leave the relationship during his health battles.

“This man told me, ‘You don’t have to stay. You don’t have to deal with it,'” she said in the video.
Sanders also admitted that he wanted Tran to have a decision, saying, “What I went through last year, it triggered something in me to start living. I gave you your out.”
Tran, who has been with Sanders for about a year, said she’s “not the type of person” to leave when it gets tough.
“If I [had] dipped, I would’ve taken the easy way out,” Tran said. “It was hard, it was difficult mentally to see you go through that struggle. But we made it work.”
Sanders announced last July that he had overcome bladder cancer, resulting in a complete removal and creation of a new prosthetic bladder. He has returned to full health and has a strong support system in place ahead of the 2026 football season.
