A night out in Tokyo was meant to be for Bebe Rexha.
The “Meant to Be” singer detailed how an evening of dancing with friends and strangers in the Japanese capital turned into inspiration for a song on her new album Dirty Blonde.
“I went out to this nightclub,” Bebe said in a Feb. 13 clip from her appearance on Page Six Radio’s Virtual Reali-tea show. “There was another table with all these guys and these hot girls, and this one Japanese girl came up, and we were dancing, grinding on each other. And then she just starts making out with me.”
The 36-year-old added, “We had the best night ever. So I was like, ‘I have to write a song about it.'”
Indeed, Bebe explained that her upcoming track “Tokyo” includes the lyrics, “I kissed a girl in Tokyo.”
