The No. 11 Nebraska softball team upset No. 1 Texas Tech 3-2 on Sunday. The Huskers improved to 6-4 on the season with three wins over ranked opponents, while the Red Raiders fell to 11-1.
The victory is the fifth time in school history that Nebraska has defeated the No. 1 team and the second time this season. The Huskers upset then-No. 1 Texas on Feb. 7 in San Antonio.

Alexis Jensen (3-1) earned the win for the Huskers, throwing 4.0 innings while allowing two runs, one earned, with five hits and seven strikeouts. Jordy Frahm threw the last three innings and retired all nine batters while striking out four.
Texas Tech pitcher NiJaree Canady (4-1) recorded the loss. The two-time national pitcher of the year allowed three runs in 4.2 innings.
Nebraska will now play in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic and will open against No. 16 South Carolina on Friday. The game starts at noon CT and can be seen on FloSports.
