WWE NXT commentator Vic Joseph recently dropped a major announcement related to a popular stable on the latest edition of the developmental show. The stable in question is The Vanity Project.
On the latest edition of NXT, Vanity Project’s Ricky Smokes & Brad Baylor locked horns with OTM’s Bronco Nima & Lucien Price, Hank & Tank Ledger, and The Culling’s Shawn Spears & Niko Vance in a Fatal Four-Way Number One Contender’s Match for the NXT Tag Team Championships.
Thanks for the submission!
All of the stars involved in the match put on an incredible display of action inside the ring. In the last stages of the bout, it seemed like Spears would take home the win for his team after he hit Baylor with the C4 and went in for the pin.
However, Evolve’s Jackson Drake came out of nowhere to break up the pinfall. As Shawn was trying to attack Drake, OTM hit him with a double stomp. Ricky Smokes took advantage of this situation and pushed his teammate, Brad Taylor, who fell on Shawn Spears and unknowingly won the match for his team via pinfall.
Following the match, commentator Vic Joseph officially announced that Vanity Project will now face Dark State for the NXT Tag Team Championship next week on the developmental show.
Vic Joseph also wondered if next week, The Vanity Project could make it three wins in a row since they came up to NXT from Evolve.
“Vanity Project is now the number one contender to the NXT Tag Team Titles, and we can announce that this is official. Can Vanity Project make it three in a row? The NXT Tag Titles will be on the line next Tuesday here on NXT,” Vic said.
Check out the finish of the match in the post below:
It remains to be seen what Shawn Michaels has planned for The Vanity Project’s future in WWE NXT.
